When it comes to the social morality of troubled teens many believe it is a downward spiral that began with the hippie era of the 1960’s. During this time teenagers got the idea that they should be able to conform to their own ideas rather than those of society. This was the beginning of teenagers thinking that anything they wanted to try was acceptable. 

ImageIt seems that social morality of troubled teens leaves us all with some blame for the way teenagers are in our society. After all it is society as a whole who has made it acceptable to have teenagers giving birth, dropping out of school, and taking no responsibility for their actions. Rather than blaming violence on TV and in video games we really need to take a look at the examples that have been set by others in society.

Due to the social morality of troubled teenagers the future of our country is at great risk. We have many epidemics that involve teenagers that we really shouldn’t be proud of. Look at the number of troubled teens that don’t get an education and therefore they will struggle financially for the rest of their lives.

The number of troubled teenagers who are involved with drugs or alcohol doesn’t leave them for much hope for a bright future. Violent crimes that are committed by teenagers simply because they feel they have the right to take what they want are on the rise. It is time for our society as a whole to let troubled teens know that this type of behavior has gone too far and it is time for change.

The times have certainly changed from teenagers enjoying simple pranks to have some fun on a Saturday night. It is very scary when you think of troubled teenagers out vandalizing property, stealing cars, taking drugs, and even killing people all because social morality has gone out the window.
