Teen Drinking - 2006/08/24 23:11 I think that my teenager does a lot more than just hang out when he goes over to his long-time friend’s house on the weekends. I believe that they are drinking alcohol over there. In the beginning he wasn’t over there as often, but now it has become regular visits. He’s always rushing to his room as soon as he gets back. I think his friends have a bad influence on his own decision-making but I feel that it’s hard for me to try and go up against this because he has been friends with these guys since middle school. And you know how it is with teenagers, they listen to their peers more than their own parents!

Re:Teen Drinking - 2006/08/24 23:13 It’s a good thing that you actually have come to terms with the reality that teenagers these days more often than not, listen to their peers more than their parents. Now knowing this, you may decide on approaching your teenager in a manner which is delicate enough not to send your teen spiraling off in the direction of his buds, yet still forceful enough to show him who’s boss. It may require a more understanding approach. Think of something that your child may relate to with regard to the way alcoholic habits can become addicting. Use this as an example in order to show him exactly how his drinking can be self-destructive.
