Boarding school - 2006/09/01 01:05 I want to send my troubled teen off to boarding school because I believe that it is what will do him the best. But I have to admit that the main thing stopping me is the fact that he’ll be far away from his family. He grew up with me by his side and it seems so hard to have him study so far away while he’s still growing up. I want him near, by my side, but I can’t control his defiant behavior any longer.

Re:Boarding school - 2006/09/01 01:07 You said it yourself, you know that sending your troubled teen to boarding school will be the most beneficial for your son—so do it. Let him experience the proper disciplining that a specialty boarding school can give him. Watching him grow up by your side can definitely leave you feeling quite nervous about this decision for your teen. But remember that this is a decision you are making for your teen, not yourself. If some parents could make all the decisions for their children, maybe some would never let their children grow up at all. Here lies the beauty of parenting, you are guiding the young. And as a guide you lead them to where they may thrive.

Re:Boarding school - 2007/04/20 13:38 If you think it is the best for him, you can make some sacrifices. That is what we parents often do. I have sent my daughter too to a girl boarding school and everything is running smoothly so far. She has become more discipline and responsible. So give it a try and you'll see...

Re:Boarding school - 2007/05/17 16:00 Yeah, do what you think is good for your kid. In the long run, it is he who'll benefit most from it. He'll have better relationships, good career, and sound lifestyle. Go ahead, don't be overwhelmed by your fears.
