She has recently being withdrawn and start wearing dark colours claiming she is 'emo'. what i have read about being emo scare me and i am worried about her. Any advice as to how to deal with this

Re:identity - 2007/09/25 11:59 As long as your teenage daughter just enjoys the idea of being "emo" and does not engage in the attributes of it that scare you, then dressing dark shouldn't stress you out that much, at least not yet. A good sign would be her academics, if your teen is still doing excellent in school then her personally preference in style is simply that. If becoming 'emo' does affect her studies then you can definitely step in and ask her what is really going on. If one of her few close friends drops by the house, try and see if you can get a word or two from her about how your daughter has been feeling lately as well.
