making right decision for troubled teen - 2006/06/13 04:43
Tonight my 13 yr old preteen told me that the previous night she sat by her brother's door and seriously thought about how to kill him. She actually told me that she thought of getting a knife and stabing him in the heart and then going to bed to sleep until the next morning when his body was discovered. Once before she was angry at her brother and she put a hole in his door with a hammer. When she told me this she was in tears and scared of her feelings.
Her brother is a very gentle loving 15 yr old who is active in community and very well liked. He does normal teasing like any other kid. Stuff like singing a song that he knows will make her mad. I asked her if he had done some terrible thing to her that would make her want to do this. I even asked if he had abused her in any wa . She just tells me that he is anoying and he makes her so very mad. She does have trouble controling her behavior and seems to be angry most of the time. I love my daughter dearly and want to help her. Is this situation at the point that I must place my daugther in an institution in order to protect other sibling or is their time to work this out by takng her to receive out patient counceling?
