16yr old has left home - 2008/07/30 01:39
Can anyone out there offer any advice? My 16 yr old daughter has moved in with her aggressive & manipulative boyfriend & his mum. I suppose she thinks she loves him but this situation is heartbreaking. We have no legal rights now she has turned 16. I keep in contact with her , i tell her i love & miss her. I don't help her at all fiancially as she says her boyfrind will support her!!! He hates work so i can't see that happening. We feel as parents completely helpless & useless. I felt she should go on the pill so we went to the dr together but have since heard she thinks she might be pregnant. My husband refuses to have her back if she is & i do agree but i feel torn in all directions, i also have a 12 yr old & i don't want her thinking this is acceptable behaviour. Are we doing the right thing ? should we be doing things differently? Any advice much appreciated.
